Pressed in Brass Coil Heaters (Custom Shapes: Cones, Cut Outs & TC's ) - Description Review:

Pressed in brass coil heaters are a type of coil heater that are inserted into a machined groove in a brass tube or nozzle. Pressed in brass coil heaters are coil heaters that use brass as the sheath material for the heating element. Brass is a good conductor of heat and electricity, and it has good corrosion resistance and machinability. Brass coil heaters can be used for heating gases, liquids, or solids that are not corrosive to brass, such as water, oil, air, or plastic. Other types of sheath materials that are commonly used for coil heaters are INCOLOY , steel, copper, and stainless steel (type 304). These materials have different properties and applications depending on the temperature, pressure, and corrosiveness of the medium being heated. The heating element inside the coil heater is usually composed of resistance wires or ribbons made from materials like Nichrome or Kanthal, which have high resistivity and heat resistance. The heating element is also insulated with MgO (magnesium oxide) to prevent short circuits and improve thermal conductivity.

They have several advantages over other coil heaters, such as:

  •    Faster heat response and better heat profile due to the elimination of air pockets and the precise positioning of the heater coil .
  •    Higher durability and corrosion resistance due to the protection of the heater coil and the thermocouple junction from molten brass.
  •    More contact area and heat transfer between the heater and the brass sheath.
  •    Flexible design options for different shapes, sizes, watt densities, thermocouple types and terminal exits.
  •    Pressed in brass coil heaters are used in various applications and industries that require high temperature and precise heating, such as:
  •    Injection molding: They are used to heat the nozzles and manifolds of hot runner systems to ensure uniform melt flow and prevent material degradation .
  •    Mass spectrometry: They are used to heat the ion sources and sample introduction systems to generate ions from the analytes and enhance the sensitivity and accuracy of the analysis .
  •    Air heating: They are used to heat air or gas streams for various purposes, such as drying, curing, sterilizing, etc.
  •    Medical: They are used to heat medical devices or instruments that require precise temperature control, such as catheters, endoscopes, surgical tools, etc.
